BC HealthCareers is a good starting point learn more about BC’s efforts to recruit healthcare professionals. BC has implemented fast-track credentialing for US-trained physicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners. BC HealthCareers is working in conjunction with HealthMatchBC and will get you on your way!
HealthMatchBC is a service of the Ministry of Health focused on recruitment of skilled health care professionals across British Columbia. Create an account with HealthMatchBC. This will connect you with a person who can help guide you through credentialing, finding jobs, and immigration through available channels for health care professionals HealthMatchBC hosts regular webinars and information sessions and you’ll be notified of these once you set up an account.
You can also search for jobs directly. For jobs in this area, search Interior Health Authority Careers and the Provincial Health Authority. Depending on need, some positions may be eligible for relocation incentives.
🥼 Doctors: Also contact the South Okanagan Divisions of Family Practice https://divisionsbc.ca/south-okanagan-similkameen. They can work alongside HealthMatchBC to walk you through the process, book clinic site visits, and support relocation.
If you are a healthcare worker who works directly with patients, and are considering moving to British Columbia the there is a regional Discord group you can join for a more dynamic, engaging site to ask questions and connect with local helpers, with other health care professionals who have made the move, and those considering a move.
